Viola Leads Inspiration as New L'Oreal Spokesperson

L'Oreal Paris' call for new spokespersons was an opportunity made perfect for someone like Viola Davis.

The beauty brand has begun getting ready to launch their latest, Age Perfect line. With changes in times, comes changes in beauty. That's why the Academy Award-winning actress is one of the new faces to promote diversity alongside Hellen Mirren, Eva Longoria and Elle Fanning. According to Us Magazine, the 54-year-old reminisced in a press release about her younger days when positive reinforcement of her outside wasn't familiar territory to build her inside.

“As a young girl, I wasn’t always told that I was smart, beautiful or worthy. I worked tremendously hard to get where I am today — overcoming feelings of doubt to become a woman who truly believes I am ‘worth it’ in every way. I believe it’s so important to build confidence in women from a young age and to role model diver perspectives of beauty. To now be part of a brand that has been championing women’s worth for more than 40 years and to use my voice to help empower others is truly surreal.”

Viola has certainly presented herself "worthy" creatively with accolade after accolade. Now, she'll be getting her dues for L'Oreal's Age Perfect line.

Though we like to say, "age is nothing but a number," it's proven a significant number when it comes on to the longevity of a career. But much like Viola's self-worth, her confidence is one thing that will main ageless.

“When you reach a certain age, the playing field is leveled in terms of looks and what you’re left with is your self-worth and how you impact others. I want people to realize that this is the only thing that stands the test of time.”

Congratulations, Viola!
