In almost 100 years of the Oscars, this was the first year with an all Black production team, two Black hosts, and incredible Black actors being nominated. This was the moment where Will Smith finally got the Oscar he deserved. The role that he played as "King Richard" is a story that needed to be told. The story of two young Black girls from Compton being raised up in a two-parent household, where the Father had a pivitol role in their growth and success as athletes.
This moment was far greater than a stale joke that Chris made. I just wish Will could have realized that...
