Alicia Keys Reflects On 2020 During iHeartRadio Music Festival Performance

Aside from "unprecedented," this year has been a rollercoaster in more ways than one. But, Alicia Keys is choosing to look at it with the glass half full and shared her thoughts during her performance at the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Festival.

Alicia kicked off the festival weekend by telling fans, "2020 has been something, and nothing is the same, is it? But you know what I call it? I call it 'The Great Transformation.' One thing that's true, you can never stop the music. We need it now more than ever."

The multi-talented artist also had a full-circle moment while taking the stage this year. Keys performed at the very first iHeartRadio Music Festival in 2011, and now as the two-night mega-concert celebrates its 10th year, she explained, "I was here for the very first iHeart Festival, and I'm here right now better than ever."

Alicia performed "Love Looks Better" and "So Done" off of her newly-released album ALICIA. On the meaning behind "Love Looks Better," she explained:

"This song is perfect right now for me. It really talks about how busy we've all been. We've been all consumed with everything else. But then you realize, 'Wait a minute, the people I love the most, the people I want to spend the most time with ... maybe I've been spending all my time in all these other places, and actually, my love looks better on you.'

ALICIA is Keys' first new album in four years and follows the release of 2016's Here. The new project showcases 15 new songs including features from artists like Khalid, Miguel, Jill Scott, Sampha, Tierra Whack, Snoh Aalegra and Diamond Platinumz.

In case you missed it, or just want to re-live all of the epic performances from this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival, tune in to the two-night highlights special on The CW on September 27 and 28 from 8-10pm ET/PT.
