Will Smith Raps His Entire Life's History With Jimmy Fallon

Someone better tell the Migos there's a new rap group coming for their spot.

On Thursday's (January 9) episode of The Tonight Show, Will Smith and Jimmy Fallon teamed up to perform a rap song about Will's entire career — and it was kind of legendary.

The 51-year-old actor and 45-year-old comedian exchanged bars about Will's life, chronicling everything from his early days as an unknown Philly MC to being cast on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1990 to his incredible rise as one of the most respected names in Hollywood.

“I was rappin’ just to make bus fare / Then I moved in with my auntie and uncle in Bel-Air,” Will began, as Jimmy added, “I don’t gotta tell you that show was awesome / Every Monday night, before an all-new Blossom.”

Will went on to detail how he decided to make the shift from television into film, name dropping one of his early Box Office hits. “But a real big star needs a real big screen / So I had to spread my wings, if you know what I mean,” he rapped. “Independence Day, aliens on my turf / You invading us? Nah, ‘Welcome to Earth!'”

For Jimmy's turn, he got personal, rapping about Will's marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith in 1997. He additionally shouted out her popular Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk. “’97 married Jada, and she still set it off / Any questions? You and she can have a Red Table Talk,” he spit.

Will continued to go down memory lane, mentioning a number of his classic films — Men In Black, Wild Wild West, Muhammad Ali, Hitch, Pursuit of Happyness, I Am Legend — and a number of his recent ones — Suicide Squad, Aladdin, Spies In Disguise. While rapping through his career highlights, the proud father-of-three also made sure to namecheck his children — Trey, Jaden, and Willow.

Will and Jimmy's rap ultimately ended with a line from Will's upcoming film, Bad Boys for Life.

“You’re a good man —” Jimmy said, as Will concluded, “And Bad Boy for life.”
