American Airline Forced Woman to Cover Up Her Outfit

A Texas mother is having to defend her choice of travel clothes against American Airlines.

Dr. Latisha "Tisha" Rowe and her 8-year-old son were on their way from Kingston, Jamaica to Miami, Florida when she endured unexpected humiliation. Apparently, an airline employee dubbed her strapless, fitted romper inappropriate and in need of a cover up. The worker gave her the option of wrapping herself in a blanket or not getting on the flight. Personal experience aside, it was her son's crying after conceding that was the nail in the coffin.

Latisha shared a tweet showing exactly what she had on before leading into a sermon about society's double standards.

It seemed like Rowe's public social media frenzy caught the attention of American Airlines, who sent spokesperson Shannon Gilson to clean up their dirt.

"We were concerned about Dr. Rowe's comments, and reached out to her and our team at the Kingston airport to gather more information about what occurred. We apologize to Dr. Rowe and her son for their experience, and have fully refunded their travel. We are proud to serve customers of all backgrounds and are committed to providing a positive, safe travel experience for everyone who flies with us."

Her lawyer, Geoffrey Berg, told CNN the travel company "has been provided the opportunity to do the right thing," including "making sure that people aren't treated this way, in particular women of color." Regardless, there's still talk of whether or not a lawsuit will follow.

Do you agree with Latisha or was American justified?
