Updated list of school closures ahead of potential impacts from Ian

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The following schools have made the decision to cancel class ahead of any potential impacts from Ian:

GEORGIA

  • Bacon County School District will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Benedictine will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Bethesda Academy will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
  • Butler Christian Academy will be closed on Friday, Sept. 30
  • Calvary Day will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
  • College of Coastal Georgia is shifting to online classes starting Wednesday, Sept. 28 through Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Evans County Schools will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Glynn County School District will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Hancock Day School will be closed on Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Liberty County School District will be closed on Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Long County School District: All Long County schools will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • McIntosh County School District: Schools will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Memorial Day School will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
  • Pinewood Christian Academy in Bellville will be closed Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Savannah Classical Academy will have a half-day on Thursday, Sept. School will end at noon. The academy will be closed on Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Savannah-Chatham County Schools will move to virtual learning on Thursday and Friday.
  • St. Andrew’s will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Tattnall County Schools will be closed Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Tybee Island Maritime Academy will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Wayne County School District will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.

South Carolina

  • Beaufort County – Schools will move to eLearning on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30.
  • Jasper County School District will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30
