Residential Debris Removal in Unincorporated Chatham County

SAVANNAH, GA (September 19, 2017) – Chatham County has activated a vendor contract for removal of Hurricane Irma residential debris on public right-of-ways.  However, the needed resources are not available since there is a shortage of debris removal equipment and personnel due to the impacts of hurricanes in Texas and Florida.  Chatham County’s contractor has been able to acquire limited resources from Minnesota and are making every effort possible to secure additional trucks and personnel.

We are respectfully requesting all residents of unincorporated Chatham County to be patient as we work through this process. Remember to keep vegetative debris separate from other waste.  Also, please do not place debris in the roadway or over utilities and storm drains.
