Ja'net Dubois, Television Icon & Pioneer Passed Away

Ja’net Dubois who played the character Willona on the television show “Good Times” passed away according to TMZ.She was found dead early on Tuesday morning,Her family says Ja’net died unexpectedly in her sleep overnight at her home in Glendale, CA. it’s not clear who discovered her body Tuesday morning. Supposedly, she hadn’t complained of any specific ailments in the recent past, and she appeared to be in good health to those around her. She even attended a fan event in Hollywood a couple of weeks ago.

Ja’net, she be noted for havingsang the theme song, “Movin’ On Up” for, “The Jeffersons” — so, she should also be remembered for her voice. She appeared in tons of movies over the years, including “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka”, “Tropic Thunder” and “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.” She also won two Emmy awards for her voice-over work on “The PJs.”

Janet Jackson — who played Penny Gordon Woods, the adopted daughter of DuBois’ character Willona Woods in Good Times — shared a sweet Instagram tribute in honor of the late actress. “I am so very saddened to hear my longtime friend Ja’Net DuBois has passed away.
